If you were about to play NBA finals, would you watch the other team’s past games to prepare for the game?
Would you study their go-to moves and come up with ways to stop them?
Or would you play with your fingers crossed that natural instincts will get you the win.
No. You wouldn’t.
But, this is the type of ignorance we choose to have with our primary opponent—Satan.
Black Men Don’t Study Their True Enemy
As a collective group, Black men don’t study Satan’s go-to moves—so we fall for them. We don’t study his agenda—so we sign up for it. We don’t even realize when he has zoomed past us to score points in our homes, our schools, and our marriages. We let him win.
We think we’re in a fair fight, and our natural instincts will get us through. Sometimes we’re so ignorant that we actually help his team win. The images below are clear examples Black men who appear righteous or harmless, but they are Satan’s most faithful soldiers:
Satan Loves Ignorant Black Men
Satan has always found loyal soldiers among Black men. Too many of us are carnal or asleep at the wheel on how he works. We give the enemy an open door to destroy our families, like those guys who give three-point shooters too much space. We dismiss getting an up-close and personal look at Satan so we can recognize him, study him, and stop him. We don’t recognize when we’re following a Satanic worldview versus a Biblical one. Some of us don’t even believe Satan exists.
Black husbands should know Satan’s go-to moves for:
- Creating conflict between us and our wives
- Getting our children to follow the culture instead of the scripture
- Castrating our ability to provide for our families
- Distracting us from preparing for world collapse and the antichrist
- Pretending white people are our main problem, rather than our own carnal weaknesses and lack of unity.
Guard Yourself & Your Family
LeBron James once said that his career rival Steph Curry is like him— there’s no way to stop him, especially when he gets a hot shooting hand. But, there’s actually one guy who’s really good at stopping Steph Curry—his brother. Steph Curry’s brother, Seth, is not as big of a star, but he’s one of the few basketball players who can shut his brother down.
He knows his brother. He’s watched his brother’s evolution. He knows all his moves, and when it’s time to compete, they are not friends.
As part of our roles as priest of our households, we have to build our knowledge of both Yahweh and Satan.
Ignorance Is No Excuse
The book of Leviticus talks about unintentional sin. These are ways that we violate Yahweh’s standards without knowing. We may get the grace of salvation for this, but we don’t get a pass on the penalties. Christ reconfirms that sinning without knowing still comes with punishments in this life.
Luke 12:42-48
And the Lord said, “Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his master will find doing so when he comes. Truly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all that he has.
But if that servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and be drunk, the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. And that servant who knew his master’s will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few.
For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.
Leviticus 4
The Lord said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites: ‘When anyone sins unintentionally and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands —
“‘If the anointed priest sins, bringing guilt on the people, he must bring to the Lord a young bull without defect as a sin offering for the sin he has committed. He is to present the bull at the entrance to the tent of meeting before the Lord. He is to lay his hand on its head and slaughter it there before the Lord. Then the anointed priest shall take some of the bull’s blood and carry it into the tent of meeting. He is to dip his finger into the blood and sprinkle some of it seven times before the Lord, in front of the curtain of the sanctuary. The priest shall then put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of fragrant incense that is before the Lord in the tent of meeting. The rest of the bull’s blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering at the entrance to the tent of meeting. He shall remove all the fat from the bull of the sin offering—all the fat that is connected to the internal organs, both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver, which he will remove with the kidneys — just as the fat is removed from the ox[b] sacrificed as a fellowship offering. Then the priest shall burn them on the altar of burnt offering. But the hide of the bull and all its flesh, as well as the head and legs, the internal organs and the intestines—that is, all the rest of the bull—he must take outside the camp to a place ceremonially clean, where the ashes are thrown, and burn it there in a wood fire on the ash heap.
“If the whole Israelite community sins unintentionally and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands, even though the community is unaware of the matter, when they realize their guilt and the sin they committed becomes known, the assembly must bring a young bull as a sin offering and present it before the tent of meeting. The elders of the community are to lay their hands on the bull’s head before the Lord, and the bull shall be slaughtered before the Lord. Then the anointed priest is to take some of the bull’s blood into the tent of meeting. He shall dip his finger into the blood and sprinkle it before the Lord seven times in front of the curtain. He is to put some of the blood on the horns of the altar that is before the Lord in the tent of meeting. The rest of the blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering at the entrance to the tent of meeting.
He shall remove all the fat from it and burn it on the altar, and do with this bull just as he did with the bull for the sin offering. In this way the priest will make atonement for the community, and they will be forgiven. Then he shall take the bull outside the camp and burn it as he burned the first bull. This is the sin offering for the community.
“When a leader sins unintentionally and does what is forbidden in any of the commands of the Lord his God, when he realizes his guilt and the sin he has committed becomes known, he must bring as his offering a male goat without defect. He is to lay his hand on the goat’s head and slaughter it at the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered before the Lord. It is a sin offering. Then the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering and pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar. He shall burn all the fat on the altar as he burned the fat of the fellowship offering. In this way the priest will make atonement for the leader’s sin, and he will be forgiven.
“If any member of the community sins unintentionally and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands, when they realize their guilt and the sin they have committed becomes known, they must bring as their offering for the sin they committed a female goat without defect. They are to lay their hand on the head of the sin offering and slaughter it at the place of the burnt offering. Then the priest is to take some of the blood with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering and pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar. They shall remove all the fat, just as the fat is removed from the fellowship offering, and the priest shall burn it on the altar as an aroma pleasing to the Lord. In this way the priest will make atonement for them, and they will be forgiven.
“If someone brings a lamb as their sin offering, they are to bring a female without defect. They are to lay their hand on its head and slaughter it for a sin offering at the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered. Then the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering and pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar. They shall remove all the fat, just as the fat is removed from the lamb of the fellowship offering, and the priest shall burn it on the altar on top of the food offerings presented to the Lord. In this way the priest will make atonement for them for the sin they have committed, and they will be forgiven.
A Conversation With Satan
Here’s a video of an interview with Satan about his full agenda, especially for Black families. The approach is amusing—but the message is true.
Watch it with your family, especially if your children can understand. Then, create a daily habit of reading your Word. Pay attention to Satan’s maneuvers, so you can recognize when he’s about to cross you over.
